Today I said, "Goodbye" to a dear friend. Actually this is one of my servants. This is a servant that I often use several times a day. I love rice cooker oatmeal for breakfast and rice for dinner, steamed veggies in it's basket. I will have to work hard to replace my faithful servant but alas, it's service is completed.
Lately, all my servants are kicking the bucket. The toaster, crock pots, and now my rice cooker and it looks like my coffee maker is not far behind.

I love my rice cooker, but I've never made oatmeal in it. Can You share your method, please???
We put in 4 cups of oatmeal, 8 cups of rice, 1 tsp cinnamon, and if I feel like it I put in 1 cup of raisins and I grate an apple then plug it in and let it do it's thing. It is wonderful! I even bring it with us on vacation to make breakfast in the hotel room without the expence!
Thanks! (I assume you mean 8 cups of water, right?) Sounds like a much easier route than using a pot on the stove top. I'll give it a try!
Is that the same cooker that has been used to feed your children only chicken and rice......every meal?
Oops yes Theresa I did mean water and it is super easy! you just hear the click and know your breakfast is ready.
Anonymous.... I know who you are! Your husband fell for the only chicken and rice hook, line and sinker! FYI My children love Oatmeal and they love rice too.
You know the best time to replace those servants will be this Friday!!! Black Friday always has the best sales on small appliances. Especially at Kohls.
